Even as the covid-19 pandemic wanes, the collaborative office software that gained prominence during it shows no signs of retreating; rather, its influence continues to grow. We find ourselves reluctantly ensnared in a vortex of "time politics," progressively abandoning resistance and struggle in favor of compliance and endorsement, thereby contributing to a pathological social landscape nurtured by this politics of time. The work employs the "read" feature in DingTalk as a lens through which to examine the capitalist dynamics of time, efficiency, and control. Through narrative video, the audience is immersed in a work environment saturated with stress and anxiety, experiencing the relentless bombardment of work-related messages that disrupt work efficiency, alter work rhythms, and encroach upon free time.

The book employs abstract symbols and graphics to delve into the intricate power dynamics surrounding time, efficiency, and control in a capitalist society. It explores how laborers become self-domesticated, acquiescing to the capital's dominion over time, ultimately finding themselves "pinned" to the unforgiving timeline of capitalism, with no avenue for escape.
